Lesson №6. Adverbs
Lekanta №6. Aiguså
Adverb is a word that modifies a verb, adjective, other adverbs, or various other types of words, phrases, or clauses
In Novial, adverbs are quite structured and have definite endings that are not amenable to change and are always stable in nature.
The formation of adverbs from adjectives
In order to supplement our speech, we most often resort to adverbs. In Novial, you can easily form an adverb from an adjective. Consider the scheme:
If the ending of the adjective "-au", the adverb will acquire the ending "-ì": trimacc
au (charming) => trimacc
ì (charmingly)
If the ending of the adjective "-ou", the adverb will acquire the ending "-rì": kůl
ou (magical) => kůl
rì (magically)
If the ending of the adjective "-eļ", the adverb will acquire the ending "-eļo": rajc
eļ (correct) => rajc
eļo (right, correctly)
If the ending of the adjective "-ì", the adverb will acquire the ending "-io": stev
ì (fantastic) => stev
io (fantastically)
Let me draw your attention to the fact that the dictionary already immediately includes all forms of words, including adjectives. However, it is worth noting that among adverbs there are many exceptions deviating from the above scheme. You can always check it in the dictionary, if the adverb that you are looking for is missing, it means it follows the rules, but if it exists, then it will need to be memorized.
Examples of adverbs that deviate from the scheme:

in the distance - deļfet

sometimes - tempam
